Vintage basement: Halloween and Christmas

Christmas!
Glittery party wear

Halloween!!

Louis De Gama Internship finished!

I was there for nearly three months and I am now competent on a sewing machine and can make dresses! Here are a few that I did:

As well as working in the studio I also worked in the shop, which is on Cheshire St just off Brick Lane. While I was there I did a couple of window displays:

I also liaised with big gun buyer from asos as well as photographers and graphic designers and helped with a bit of graphics myself; I realised that I missed photoshop!

I think I could be quite good at PR so Im trying to get an intership at Foundation; http://www.foundation-agency.com. They are an ethical fashion sales, pr and consultancy agency. Fingers crossed I get it because they have some really cool clients and promoting ethical products is something I would be really interested in.

I will really miss the other interns from Louis de Gama's studio, as well as the amazing views we had of East London:

Louis de Gama

I have been offered an internship with fantastic fashion designer Louis de Gama. His collections are beautifully feminine and I love his use of fabrics. He has a studio in Commercial Road where he does everything from designing to producing clothes and then he has a shop just off Brick Lane where he sells the clothes. I will be learning all aspects of what he does and I cant wait!

It starts in October and I have had to leave All Saints, as they could not afford to give me the time off I would need. This is a little worrying as after the internship I wont have the security of a job but there is no way I could ever pass up this opportunity and I think the fear will make me work harder!!!

Here is Louis de Gama's website

Jan Knibbs

I met jan Knibbs at Veronica's. Veronica is a family member but I'm never sure what exact relation she is too me...hmmm.

Anyway, it was a pleasure to meet Jan, she was really lovely and I checked out her website and she is also very talented. Above are some of her pieces.

I have emailed her since and she emailed back to me with a really exciting proposition; designers and photographers sometimes ask if they can use her pieces on photo shoots but as she lives in Devon its hard for her to get up to London. Therefore, she asked me if I would like to take her pieces to shoots for her. I hope this could lead to some really interesting opportunities where I may be able to use my skills as a stylist!
